As we all know by now, we have been experiencing inflation in everything and now copper supplies are even more limited in availability. This spring C2100 took a big jump. So a price increase on the Gator and other copper gas checks has become necessary again. Larry Blackmon kept his production cost very low for many years, but the current times were living in has fully caught up with our small businesses.

Gator gas checks use the C2100 alloy and that metal has been the most costly to acquire when it can be acquired. So, we will be increasing the Gator gas check prices as the older stock is sold out. The Aluminum materiel has increased less, so far the prices will be holding there. The C1100 or pure copper gas checks will increase some in cost also, but hopefully not as much.

.30 caliber Gator checks will be going up $5 per thousand, which will be $34.00 a thousand. That is the largest price increase ever, but the increased material cost is beyond our control.

USPS Ground Advantage rates have lowered the shipping cost for many order sizes, so that will be the primary method of shipping now. I can ship a 1,000 .44 Copper gas checks for $7.99 instead on the previous $9.99 flat rate.

We just started testing a new .50 BMG caliber gilding brass gas check. We borrowed a NOE 850gr .514 mold from rockrat on the cast boolits forum. We just sized one for the first time with a .104 tall .517 gas check. The bullet came out at 838 grains with a 50/50 wheel weight / linotype alloy mix sized to .512.

Here is a picture:

Our idea for this .50R gas check was to make it in a mid size so you won't need separate Short and Tall versions. Testing has just started, but the fit is very good. After using a gas check seater we can't pull them off by hand. So far, they have sized fine at .512 and .517 using a push through NOE bushing type sizing die.
