It works on all my 35 calibers

  2. Great product for plain base bullets 5 Star Review

I use these on plain base bullets like my soft cast 9 mm and 38 special bullets. I just drop them in the lubesizer and seat with no issues.

  3. If it went to 6 stars it would have my vote 5 Star Review

extremely accurate! With four five shot strings, my wife took 90% of the gongs at 25 yards With 158 grain swc. bullets not weight matched, range brass, powder dump, and 38 specials in a .357 mag.

  4. good but.. 3 Star Review

The aluminum is a little too hard or thick for the lee sizer causing the check to tear. Might be fine with other types of sizing press though.

    Sage's Outdoors Response:

Lee sizing dies sometimes need smoothing out. We use them for testing and find a cone shaped fine grit grinding stone works well to solve the problem. Follow up with a buffing cone and polishing compound. The sizing die must be completely smooth and polished. Check out our info page on Plain Base too.

  5. Excellent ! Just what i was looking for... 5 Star Review

These plain base checks fit better than any check ive ever used, bar none. I'm using them on a plain base 200 gr .358 bullet with no lobe grooves, powder coated, and checked. The nose is round on this bullet, no probs whatsoever with it on my bullet.

  6. useful within limits 4 Star Review

This is a clever idea that works well within some limits. Your plain base bullets will need a flat nose for consistent results. I was not able to get round nose designs to enter the die squarely as these require the bullet enter the die base first. The amount of pressure needed to pass through the die will deform the bullet nose anyway. When using a 158 grain flat nose bullet in 9 mm Luger, some cases may bulge preventing the cartridge from entering the chamber. It's possible this is because the slight bevel on the bullet base is eliminated when the gas check is seated, although bulging isn't a consistent problem, even in the same brand of case. I need to do some experimenting with other calibers but these look like they will work well within their limitations

  7. Work well 5 Star Review

Using these on a plain base bullet for a 35 Remington. Work well.

  8. They stay on 5 Star Review

I have tried a few pop can checks, so far they were all unsatisfactory, these checks from Sage are a little thicker material and I have had no failures. The pop can checks quite often would come off in the H&I die and required an ice pick to dig them out.

Bottom line, all the Sage checks I have used to date work, and they don't require any "fiddly" machinations to do so.

  9. Love it! 5 Star Review

These plain base gas checks are the coolest things since metallic cartridge cases. Getting them on requires a bit of TLC since they are thin and the bullets weren't designed for them. But the results are amazing. No lead on the bore even when pushed hard. Velocity I never dreamed of AND good accuracy. These .358 plain base GCs work for me on a variety of 9mm, 38/357 and 9x18 Makarov bullets. The only drawback for me is that I push them thru a Lee sizer die, and they have to be pushed up thru the bottom of the die bullet base first - which makes it tricky to do round nose bullets.
