.458 Rifle Caliber Gator Gas Checks
Product Description
Made with thicker material than regular .45's to allow for rifle sizing. These are a heavy .45 caliber rifle check for .458, 45-70 and other 45 rifle calibers. These measure about .468 in overall diameter, about .080 in overall height. Made for the average .426 shank using 210 copper / gilding brass.
The checks are sold in resealable clear plastic bags.
Sold in 3 quantities: 250 for $14.25, 500 for $27.50 and 1000 for $53.00.

Excellent gas checks. They seat well and grab the base of the bullet securely. They definitely cut down on lead fouling.

I use these on NOE 350 HP and Accurate Molds 46-355R , 46-350B sized to .462 with great accuracy at all speeds in a Marlin XLR 45/70. I believe that this size gas check is the best you can get for top accuracy in lever action 45/70.

I use these for loads in Marlin XLR 45/70 and Pedersoli 1874 single shot. Accuracy definitely is better on both rifles with this size gas check. Also, Sages will post to Australia which is a big win for Ozzys down under. Keep up the good work and service.

Excellent product great value easy to get and right to specifications. Worked well in my 45-70 no issues with sizing and lubing of the bullet with the GC on. Went into place wwll md held on great.

Should Work Just Fine

This review was requested before I've a chance to shoot any boolits with these GC's attached, but my initial thoughts are:
When the description says they are .468" (in other words, oversized) they mean it. They won't just press on to the bare GC shank on my Accurate Mold 460 boolit, but they do crimp on just fine when run through the Lyman 460" lube/sizer. Those projectiles I powder coated will press fit on to the GC shank and size beautifully, as well. They look just like the H brand GC, but are bigger in diameter as sent, don't have the pretty box and cost less. Yet, they size on as expected and all my prior research shows that fellow cast shooters can't tell the difference between them and the other brand. Unless unpleasantly surprised at my next range trip I fully expect to be as happy with these as with any other GC's for the 45/70.

Have Sage gas checks in several calibers. All have functioned as expected. All the checks are in perfect condition...I have never found a mis-formed check in any of my orders. Fast and reasonable shipping and a great price. How could one ask for more.

In the past, I've encountered some bullets that are difficult to put the gas check on, but these were very easy to seat. Went to the range and fired these 405gr gas checked bullets with very good accuracy, will get them again as needed.
